The library is open to the public and everyone is welcome.  You can browse through the collections, read a book and enjoy a cup of coffee at the Patio Cafe. To check out books you must be a member. Members may check out 6 books at a time. Books must be returned within 3 weeks. The levels of membership are

         Annual - $400 pesos

         Family Annual - $600 pesos (9 book limit)

         Student - $200 pesos

         Child - $100 pesos

         Monthly - $130 pesos, 2 months; $200 pesos, 3 months; $265 pesos

1.   Volunteer
   

With only three part-time employees to run the library, volunteers are a necessity for all kinds of work. There are ongoing tasks like running the check-in desk, working in the Patio Café or one time only jobs like organizing books. We rely on the generosity of our friends and members. Income from membership covers only a small part of our annual expenses.

By making a gift to the Oaxaca Lending Library Foundation (OLLF), the donation can be deducted on your US income tax. A donation to the OLLF may be made by:

1. (1)  Writing a check made out to Oaxaca Lending Library Foundation and mailed to OLLF c/o James Corrigan, 5443 Drover Drive, San Diego, CA 92115.

3. (3)  Donations may also be left at the Library.  Please indicate that the donation is intended for Oaxaca Lending Library Foundation.

Donations of books, DVDs and magazines are also gratefully accepted.

In fact, more than 90% of our collections was donated. The sharp-eyed among you will note that not all the books donated to the OLL end up on the shelves to be checked out.  The reason is simple.  We may already have a copy of the book. The best one will be put on the shelf and the other one will be put up for sale. Sometimes this results in a brand new paperback being sold because we have a hardback copy of the same book. The book sales are an important source of income for the OLL and we are proud of the variety and quality of the books we sell.  Without your kind donations none of this would be possible.
