TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4, 5 PM
MX$90 (M) MX$130 (NM)
The Danza de la Pluma, with its giant feathered headdresses, is one of the most famous dances performed in Oaxaca and is particularly special in the Zapotec weaving village of Teotitlán del Valle.
The dance, dancers, and village all have rich stories. Come join Chris Stowens and Shannon Sheppard, who have spent several years observing and learning about this amazing culture, for a presentation filled with stories, photos and video. There will also be a special guest...a dancer from Teotitlan.
The actual performance day in Teotitlan is on Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe (December 12). Shannon and Chris will offer suggestions on how to get to Teotitlan, when to arrive, etc. if you're interested in being part of this spectacular celebration.
