Acerca del evento

How do the transitions of midlife look through queer, trans, and gender-expansive eyes? Join us at the Oaxaca Lending Library for an intimate reading and discussion with editor M'kali-Hashiki, who shares selections from Bloody Transitions: A Menopausal Anthology of Queer, Trans, and Gender Expansive Asian, Black, & Latine Voices.

Drawing on the anthology's QTIBIPOC contributors, M'kali-Hashiki explores how menopause intersects with identity, embodiment, and belonging, giving voice to an experience too often left unspoken. The reading will be followed by an open conversation with the audience. Presented as part of the Oaxaca Lending Library's 60th Anniversary season, this evening offers a rare space to listen, learn, and connect across generations and identities.

Presented in English.

Presenter: M'kali-Hashiki is a Somatic Storyteller and Erotic Ritualist who teaches folx to wield Eros as a weapon of refusal, resilience, and reclamation. Her work supports both personal healing and political reawakening, especially for those living in bodies historically marginalized or multiply-marginalized by The State.
