Is a hot air balloon ride on your bucket list? It's on mine! This is the first "Ferria de Globos Aerostaticas" in Santiago Suchilquitongo, a town about a 50 minute drive outside of Oaxaca, heading west.

We are going to take advantage of the fresh morning air and arrive for 6 AM, first launch!! After our (hopefully) exhilerating experiences, I am told there will be puestos for us to enjoy coffee and breakfast. Before we head back to the city, we will go and have a look at the local archeological site, which is made is beautiful pink stone. We´ll then head back to the city.

Appreciating that the sheer spectacle of the hot air balloons filling the skyline may be enough excitement for some, pricing is for transportation ($400 pesos NM, $350 M), and an additional $450 pesos for the ticket for the hot air balloon ascent.

What to bring: Courage, a sweater, water and sunscreen, and likely a camera!
