Acerca del evento
How do we transform social systems and institutions that have been hardened by centuries of exploitation and control? Join the Oaxaca Lending Library on the Terrace for an interactive session with Dr. Shakti Butler, built around a screening of her documentary Healing Justice and a dynamic exploration of social equity, Indigenous wisdom, and systemic change.
Blending the physics of interconnectedness with structural mapping, the session introduces "Strategic Inquiry" — a transformative communication tool designed to break through dualistic "either/or" thinking, honor historical memory, and open new pathways for deep listening, curiosity, love, accountability, and genuine community belonging. The event is part of the Oaxaca Lending Library's 60th Anniversary program and its African-American Experience series.
Presenter: Shakti Butler, PhD, is a filmmaker, transformative educator, wisdom keeper, and activist whose work cultivates the conditions for life-giving change, repair, and belonging. For more than 30 years she has created films, curricula, and learning labs that help individuals and organizations build equity — internally and externally — grounded in deep listening, strategic questioning, and radical imagination. She is the Founder and President Emeritus of World Trust Educational Services, Inc., and the producer of five dialogue-based documentaries.
