About the Hike:The entire Cemino de Juarez is a comemorative trail, inagurated by AMLO in March of 2024, to honor the walk the late President Benito Juarez made as a young man from his hometown in Guelatao to the city to find his sister.

The trail is paved with a mixture of cement and river rock, in some part the middle was left as dirt, and can include steps in some places.

Our hike today is a point to point hike from El Estudiante, a curve in the road by Tierra Colorada, and we walk downhill into Tlalixtac.

Hikers, please note the trail is entirely downhill and paved, through forest most of the way, a mix of sun and shade, until the last 2KM which will be in full sun.
