Hike - El Carrizal - Ruta #1
El Carrizal is the only village in the Sierra Norte to grow and work with wheat. Today we get to do a gorgeous point ot point hike in their forest, which includes a waterfall and a lovely lookout. Departure Time: 8AM Hike Type: Point to Point Difficulty: Moderate

About the Hike: El Carrizal is a small community nestled between the central valley and the Sierra Norte mountains/Benito Juarez national forest. Our hike today is in the local forest and takes us along old logging roads and forest paths to a lovely lookout, and then to a small waterfall before climbing back up into the village. You can swim at the pool at the base of the waterfall, but it would be too cold in the winter months.
