About the Hike:  

The Huayapam hike is one of the most popular of the season because there are two hikes – one moderate, the other more challenging (see maps below) – taking place at the same time. Those wishing a pleasant stroll through the countryside through gently rolling terrain may opt for the easier hike. People wanting a more invigorating trek in the hill country nearby should choose the difficult option. Both hikes cover about the same distance and start and end at the same time. At the conclusion of both, everyone will rendezvous at the cluster of restaurants on the shore of one of the lakes nearby for a pleasant lunch before heading back to Oaxaca.

Additional Costs:  The group will stop for lunch at any of several restaurants on the shore of one of the lakes nearby. (not included in ticket fee)

Time frame: 8:30 am depart from Parque Llano (parking lot across from the park on Dr. Liceaga) / Lunch at lakeside restaurants / 2:00 pm return Lending Library.
