This hike, new in 2022, takes visitors far into beautiful country with grand rolling hills and deep canyons. Near the end of a two-hour drive we pass through the small isolated villages of Cieneguilla, Carbonera and finally Santiago Tenango. Our trailhead is a spot on a rough country road which winds through the hills, totally isolated from civilization. This hike is the only one in the program exploring trails in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca state.
