About the Hike: NEW this season, this is the first of three overnight excursions for the Hoofing it in Oaxaca program.

There are multiple hikes to be enjoyed in Apoala, as well as pre-colonia pictographs, swminng, a small cave, the canyon and the waterfalls. The cabins are shared (2 people per cabin) and are right beside the river, at the edge of town.

This excursion can also be easily enjoyed for non-hikers, as the village is charming, green and a respite from city life.

The booking fee includes transportation to and from Oaxaca, 2 guides/chaperones, garafones of drinking water in Apoala and morning coffee (bring your mug).

An additional fee of $1200 pesos per person must be paid at the OLL at least 2 days prior to the trip, otherwise your space will be forfeited. Pay the additional fee in cash at the OLL circulation desk.

The additional fee covers: 2 nights shared accommodation, community access fees, and tips for all guides.

Excluded are meals (expect to pay between $100 and $200 pesos per meal at local comedores, and personal purchases (Apoala is famous for palm weaving.)
