Join the Oaxaca Lending Library on its Terrace for a presentation on the Oaxaca Learning Center (Centro de Aprendizaje Oaxaca), a nonprofit organization that has spent more than twenty years empowering local youth. English Coordinator Juan Manuel Vargas offers an overview of the Center's holistic approach to education, combining STEAM subjects, academic support, psychological well-being, and digital skills, and shows how that model opens real pathways to higher education and professional success across Oaxaca's communities.

Presented as part of the Oaxaca Lending Library's 60th Anniversary program, this talk looks at how community-rooted education changes lives, and at the people and partnerships that make the Oaxaca Learning Center's work possible.

Presenter: Juan Manuel Vargas is the English Coordinator at the Oaxaca Learning Center. He has dedicated more than eight years to language acquisition through his teaching at institutions including Anáhuac University, and has collaborated with the YMCA in the United States. At the Oaxaca Learning Center he has focused on strengthening the English program, implementing innovative teaching strategies, supporting teachers' professional development, and creating learning opportunities that build students' communication skills.
