Trip description:

The people of Huitzo are justifiably proud of the work the community did to restore the old monastery in the town center - without government assistance. The town also maintains the lovely park nearby, using the labor of folks doing their community service. After visiting the monastery, we will visit the workshop of Enrique Flores, a well known local

painter.

Then we will be off to Yanhuitlan where we will explore the magnificent church and cloister

of the restored monastery there. Lastly, we will pay a call on Manuel Reyes, one of Mexico’s

most famous sculptors, who lives and has his workshop in town.

Because of the long distance and added travel time, this tour will cost 500 pesos for OLL members and 550 pesos for non-members.
