Tour Description:

We'll head out into the eastern valley to San Marcos Tlapazola (about 90 minutes), nestled in the foothills behind the town of Tlacolula to the Red Pottery Festival. Shop for pottery, enjoy the town festivities, meet the artisans, have a tepache and a memela and soak up the feria vibe. They sometimes have music, a little pottery demonstration table and they always have wonderful pieces for sale at reasonable prices.

Around 1:30 we will head into Tlacolula to browse the Sunday Market. Buy your weekly produce, enjoy barbacoa or an ice cream, pop into the little Chapel of the Martyrs (on the side of the main church), and don't miss the hall of bread! Around 3:30 we will head back into the city.

Note: There is no organized group lunch on this tour. You must self-manage tamale, memela, tacos dorados, pollo rostizado, barbacoa and pan dulce intake.

This tour will depart on time  from Calle Los Libres behind the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.

If this tour is sold out, you can take a chance that seats may be available and come to the boarding spot 15 minutes before departure. These seats must be paid for in cash.

No Refunds will be available. If you are not able to attend the event, you are welcome to sell your reservation to others. Please notify the library of change of name for reservation.
