About the Hike:Today's hike is on a gorgeous section of the Camino de Juarez. The Camino de Juarez is a federally funded path that comemorates the walk that President Benito Juarez did as a child from his home town in Guelatao to Oaxaca de Juarez,when he was a young boy. Although the whole trail runs 46.5 kilometers, today's hike will be a 7.5 kilometer section, starting at the roadside turnoff to Latuvi, and ending at the Xia reservoir. New cabins where built at the reservoir a few years ago, and they have beautiful patios to sit on and enjoy a sack lunch before heading back to the city.

Notes: The Camino de Juarez is paved, and this section incluces a long downhill section and steps. Exposure is a mixture of sun and dappled shade.
