This new hike starts at the first bridge on the road to Santa Inés del Monte, near the community of La Lobera. Our van will leave us there and we will start the walk heading southwest. The trail is a wide, dirt road with some gradual hills. Along the way we can appreciate some plantations of corn, beans and – why not? – agave. We will also see part of the Ocotlán and Zimatlán Valleys. This is a nice hike with amazing views. It is rated moderate for the length of the trail. Our outing will end near La Raya, a community belonging to the district of Zimatlán. On the Tuesday and Wednesday outings participants will need to pack a sack lunch. On Friday and Saturday we have the option of stopping for lunch at “Portozuelo” Orgánicos Sustentables, an new upscale “destination” restaurant established by the owner and chef of the Casa Oaxaca restaurant near Santo Domingo church.
