Day of the Dead Presenter

Mario López currently works as an interpreter, tour guide and traditional healer. He comes from a

Zapotec family in the Sierra Sur and speaks Zapotec. He became a healer through his grandmother

who was also a healer. He studied languages at UABJO and worked for an American organization

as an interpreter. Through this contact with foreigners, he realized that he really enjoyed sharing

about his city and culture. It pleases him to talk about the wonders of Oaxaca—its traditions and

values which make this society special and unique.
