Synopsis:
"Dispatches from the U.S. labor movement" focuses on developments in the U.S. labor movement over recent years including the current state of the labor establishment; the fight to defend immigrant workers; organizing at Amazon and Starbucks; and possible next steps for increasing labor activism stateside.
Presenter:
Peter Landon hails from Detroit and has been visiting Oaxaca since 2008 - initially drawn by the 2006 teachers strike. He's a retired truck driver and union organizer long involved with the reform caucus in the Teamsters union – TDU (Teamsters for a Democratic Union). He has decades of activism in the U.S. labor and socialist movements.
