About the event

This talk will be presented by the leadership of the Oaxaca migrant shelter Colliin, A.C., started by Drew Johnson who has worked with migrants for seven years in both Oaxaca and northern Colombia. This is an uncertain, heartbreaking and fast-changing time for migrants, deportees, and the reintegration of people on the move. Collin, A.C., Asistencia a Migrantes en Oaxaca believes that every person in transit should have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

A short documentary by Judy Jackson will be shown on the beginnings of Collin, A.C., along with a video of volunteers who have made the issue of migration both personal and political. Drew Johnson will discuss how Collin, A.C. has recently expanded its services to better address the needs of the vulnerable migrant community in the context of a rapidly changing world environment.
