Synopsis:

Lucha Libre is one of the most popular sports in Mexico. The Mexicans love to cheer for their favorite wrestlers and heckle their opponents. It's a time for emotional release and a means to get energized. Find out about the world of Lucha Libre and what fun it can be, including the history, the most famous wrestlers (real super heroes), the use of masks, and what to expect at a Lucha Libre event.

Speaker Bio:

Chuck Barth and his wife, Ellen, purchased a home in Oaxaca in 1997. Before coming to Oaxaca, Chuck taught in the Art Department of Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 30 years. Chuck is an artist who creates paintings and etchings of Mexican popular art and culture, especially Lucha Libre images. He has a collection of Luchador masks and an assortment of memorabilia. He likes to attend Lucha Libre events in Oaxaca.
