About the event

Presentation: Join Riva Kantowitz, founder of Radical Flexibility Fund, and Kristen Corning Bedford, strategic philanthropist and author of A Generous Heart: Changing the World Through Feminist Philanthropy, for a presentation about the importance and impact of Giving Circles as tools for locally led social change. We explore how Giving Circles are an emerging response to ineffective and collapsing funding models that are tied to the historical harms they were established to address, and how grassroots networks are generating community-to-community models that enable us as individuals to impact global challenges.

(A companion workshop given by Riva and Kristen on starting your own Giving Circles will take place on Jan. 30 from 2:00~4:00 pm., and On Jan. 29, Casa Collin will offer a tour of its shelter at 1:00, followed by a lunch prepared by people staying at the shelter. All events are made possible with the generous support of Collin, A.C. Details available on the 28th.)
