About the event

U.S. labor has been having a "movement moment”: the reform movement in the Auto Workers union, followed by the stunning Stand-Up Strike in fall 2023; the spread of union organizing at Amazon and the victory of a reform caucus in the first Amazon union; the 8-week strike at Boeing that won 38% wage increases, the longshore strike that had President Biden scurrying to intervene. What will the Trump victory mean for this momentum?

Presenter: Jane Slaughter lives in Detroit. Retired editor of Labor Notes, a media and organizing project founded in 1979. Co-author of Secrets of a Successful Organizer and other books for union activists. Worked at GM and Chrysler in the 1970s, covered the Auto Workers union for Labor Notes from 1979 to the present.
