Teotitlan del Valley, located 28 kms (17 miles) east of Oaxaca in the Tacolula Valley is world famous for the production of woven woolen rugs and many other articles. Our first stop will be at a women’s co-operative for a discussion of the co-op and a natural dyes demonstration. Afterwards, we will visit a unique family business where they grow mulberry leaves and cultivate silkworms. The silk is made into thread and then used to produce clothing and other products. There are shopping opportunities at both stops. 

Cost of lunch is 150 mxn cash. We will lunch at the Comedor el Jaguar restaurant in Teotitlan.Not included:

 Artesans will have beautiful handmade products for sale.  If you are interested in purchasing for yourself or as gifts, bring cash for purchases of any of these items. Additional Costs:
