Tour Description: The Muralist School used to be located right in downtown Oaxaca, however gentrification has forces Jesus out to land he was slowly

developing for the school in Huitzo sooner than planned. Jesus is a specialist in two mural techniques, Mayan and Italian. Join us as we are invited to see the new space and learn about the different work he does with students and artists from all over the world.

After lunch, we will visit the art studio (Taller de Grafica) of Enrique Flores, a prolific painter and printmaker who was mentored by the great artist Rodolfo Morales and taught by Maestro Juan Alcázar. Flores is influenced by multiple cultures, past and present. He explains that Huitzo was

historically the frontier between the Mixtec and Zapotec cultures, providing a richness of worldviews and customs. Flores is also a philanthropist, donating work to support communities and causes he deems worthy. His workshop is open to students, another way that he gives back to the

community.

NOTE: Prices for available art vary greatly. Bring cash and cards, and further arrangements for payment of your desired purchases can also be

made on the day of the tour.

Lunch: Expect to pay about 250 pesos for food and beverages.

This tour will depart on time from in front of Calle Los Libres 710 behind the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.
