It is unfortunate that many visitors to Oaxaca do not get a chance to explore the countryside nearby, particularly the villages in the Sierra Norte. This outing will provide a remedy for that. Benito Juarez, the only native Indian to become president of Mexico, was born in Guelatao, which will be the first of three towns on the day’s itinerary. 

Nearby Capulápam is justly known  as a Pueblo Magico and is a delightful place to visit.

Ixtlan de Juárez is also worth a stop. 

 We will dine on fresh-caught trout at the Shoo Betts restaurant in Ixtlan before starting our return trip to Oaxaca. (Note: tour price does not include lunch.)
