Tour Description: 

Cuajimoloyas and Llano Grande are two of the eight villages in the Pueblos Mancomunados, a cooperative which focuses on ecotourism in the Sierra Norte. Cuajimoloyas is the largest of these communities and is noted for the mushroom festival held there the third weekend of July each year. Llano Grande calls to mind some of the Hobbit villages in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Both are charming places that offer a haven to folks hankering to get away

from the noise and congestion of the city. Hiking trails link them with the other towns in the Pueblos Mancomunados, all of which provide comfy cabins for overnight visitors. It is a 90 minute drive from Oaxaca to these rustic, high-country refuges. There is beautiful scenery along the route, but the road has many twists and turns. Folks subject to motion

sickness should take appropriate measures before embarking on this excursion.

Lunch stop: Lunch on the way back to town will be at a restaurant on the highway once we get back into the Tlacolula valley. (not included in ticket price)
