This special Out & About Tour will begin with a visit to the small San José Mogote museum. San José Mogote wa the forerunner to Monte Alban. Then we are off to CaSa, the Centro de las Artes in San Augustin Etla for a special meeting with the esteemed anthropologist, René Bustamante, who will discuss his collection ROSTROS ATEMPORALES, Evolución y Permanencia de las Danzas y Máscaras Mexicanas. This is a rare opportunity to meet with the collector and curator of this outstanding collection of more than 700 pieces from all over Mexico. There will also be time to visit the other exhibits at CaSa and to learn about the beautiful restored mill and its offerings. Our final stop before lunch will be to La Cuna de Quesillo, a home workshop in La Reye Etla where Sra. Patricia Narvaez Lopez will demonstrate how she makes the string cheese Oaxaca is famous for as well as other cheeses and we will sample her delicious offerings.

Not included: either the Hacienda Santa Marta buffet restaurant or Mia Arroz - Asian-fusion dishes. Expect to pay 200-300 pesos for food and beverage.

Additional Costs:  150 pesos at La Cuna de Quesillo.

This tour will depart on time at 9:00 am  from the parking lot across from the south side of Llano Park. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.

If this tour is sold out, you can take a chance that seats may be available and come to the boarding spot 15 minutes before departure. These seats must be paid for in cash.
