About the event

The San Jerónimo Church in Tlacochahuaya is home to a famous ornate organ originating in 1739 and still used today, as well as a fantastic painted ceiling. A guide will show us the church and discuss its history.

We will then proceed to Tierra del Sol, a center for regenerative agriculture for a tour and discussion led by Pablo Ruiz, a leader of the project. The small-scale farming project uses organic, sustainable methods that care for the land and show respect for the surrounding culture. The project is also an education center, with a mission of contributing to a new culture of care and respect for all living things in cooperation with nature. The processes of fermentation and conservation form a substantial part of their work. They also have many

of their products available for purchase. Tierra del Sol will provide a delicious lunch, created from the seasonal products grown on their land.

It will be a true farm-to-table experience.

Additional Costs:  There is about a 40 peso fee for the guide at the church (500 shared by the group). Lunch at Tierra del Sol will include a credit for their store and will cost 300 pesos.

This tour will depart on time at 9:30 am  from the parking lot across from the south side of Llano Park. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.
