For many people, is was “the best tour with the best lunch,“ so we are repeating it. The San Jerónimo Church in Tlacochahuaya is home to a famous ornate organ originating in 1739 and still used today, as well as a fantastic painted ceiling. A guide will show us the church and discuss its history. We will then proceed to Tierra del Sol, a center for regenerative agriculture for a tour and discussion of the project including the architecture that is an important area of the project. They use organic, sustainable farming methods that care for the land and show respect for the surrounding culture. The project is also an education center, with a mission of contributing to a new culture of care and respect for all living things in cooperation with nature. The processes of fermentation and conservation form a substantial part of their work. They also have many of their products available for purchase. Tierra del Sol will provide a delicious lunch, created from the seasonal products grown on their land. It will be a true farm-to-table experience that may be your best meal in Oaxaca.          NOTE  Wear comfortable shoes, a hat, and bring sun screen.

Additional Costs:  There is about a 40 peso fee for the guide at the church (500 shared by the group). The tour and lunch at Tierra del Sol are an additional 450 pesos. 

This tour will depart on time at 9:30 am  from the parking lot across from the south side of Llano Park. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.

If this tour is sold out, you can take a chance that seats may be available and come to the boarding spot 15 minutes before departure. These seats must be paid for in cash.

No Refunds will be available. If you are not able to attend the event, you are welcome to sell your reservation to others. Please notify the library of change of name for reservation.
