This tour will be a full and varied day. It will begin with a visit to Xaquixe, where Christian Thornton will demonstrate glass blowing and talk about his sustainable, people-focused production centered on local resources. There will ba  special rare exhibit of works from glasswork masters. We will then visit a cheese maker for a demonstration and then a wonderful lunch with dishes not often served in Oaxaca. After lunch we will visit CaSa - the Centro de las Artes de San Agustin, a former textile factory transformed into an arts center with classrooms, performance spaces, and a huge gallery hall. Located in the Etla district, 15 km from the capital city of Oaxaca, CaSa is one of the many cultural projects Maestro Francisco Toledo (1939-2019) established to contribute to the region’s artistic and cultural development. We will visit the current exhibit "Toledo Ve", a wonderful new installation featuring a wide variety of the works of Maestro Toledo.

The exhibition is made up of graphic work created, for the most part, in the seventies and early eighties, in collaboration with Armando Colina and Víctor Acuña (1939-2021).

This tour will depart on time at 8:00 am  from Calle Los Libres behind the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.

Online ticket sales end at 7 pm the day before the tour. If the tour is sold out, you can take a chance that seats may be available and come to the boarding spot 15 minutes before departure. These seats must be paid for in cash.
