Tour Description:

Francisco Carrasco’s twenty-five-year labour of love is Vives Verdes, a garden is Xoxocotlán. Francisco will give us a guided tour through his garden, which not only includes his curated collection of agave, cactus, succulents and more, but also his garden sculptures made from found pieces remade into fabulous outdoor art.

From Francisco’s, we’ll continue on our short drive to Arrazola, stopping at Issiah’s Jimenez’ home to learn about the art of hand carved fantastical

wooden figures (often incorrectly referred to as Alebrijes). Here, Isiah will share his family’s story of how a man of humble beginnings was discovered

and shared his talent with people in the village, and internationally. (Make sure he tells you about when they went to the carving competition in Japan!)

You’ll have time to browse the art pieces available at the Jimenez home, as well as a few other workshops in town.

We’ll then head to lunch, which will be at Cruz Blanca Cocina de los pueblos, near Cuilapam de Guerrero.

Notes: Bring a parasol or hat for the garden, and good walking shoes.

Lunch: Expect to pay around $200 - $250 pesos for lunch

This tour will depart on time  from Calle Los Libres behind the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.

If this tour is sold out, you can take a chance that seats may be available and come to the boarding spot 15 minutes before departure. These seats must be paid for in cash.
