Tour Description:

You’ve seen them: The massive headdresses that the danza de la Pluma dancers wear atop their heads as they dance for hours, spinning and jumping with a riot of color and movement. We’re headed outo to start our day at a feather workshop, learning how these masterpieces are made, but also having the opportunity to make something ourselves.

After our workshop, we will take in the new small community museum in Zaachila, which houses pieces from the archeological site.

Finally, our heads filled with feathers and art that steeps us in the traditions of this beautiful land, we’ll sit down to a 3-course meal at Juana’s Cocina de Casa. The food presentation is art itself, but so deliciously edible! Usually open only on Saturday and Sundays, we’re being treated to our own private event. ¡A comer!

Additional fees: $400 for the feather workshop and $500 + beverages of choice for comida.

This tour will depart on time  from Calle Los Libres behind the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Unclaimed seats may be re-sold at boarding time.

If this tour is sold out, you can take a chance that seats may be available and come to the boarding spot 15 minutes before departure. These seats must be paid for in cash.

No Refunds will be available. If you are not able to attend the event, you are welcome to sell your reservation to others. Please notify the library of change of name for reservation.
